What are Damper Valves? And Working of Damper Valves.

Damper valves and it's working

The damper valve is an important part of the air circulation system. Superior to the simple fan control system, long damping valve allows accurate directional flow control.

The damper valve can also control the amount of material allowed to pass through the system and can work to isolate equipment from gas or airflow.

The damper valve can be made of various types of steel - generally carbonized, galvanized, or stainless. They can also be constructed of plastic and/or aluminium. There are also various shapes and sizes of reducer valves available to suit various applications in various industries.

From models that keep smoky outside air into the cabin of a passenger car to the heavy-duty industrial version used to prevent chemical plant explosions, the silencer valve serves the vital purpose of keeping the air system clean, safe and functioning properly.

The two types of damper valves commonly used in the oil, gas and chemical industries are the knife force reducer and the butterfly force reducer.

Blade Dampers

blade dampers
The blade damper, or grounded damper, depends on the blades or "blades" to determine the direction of air or gas travel. The blades are stacked horizontally and can be adjusted to restrict the flow of air to certain areas.

In this way, air can be directed out of a facility while simultaneously preventing the entry of outside air. There are many industrial applications for knife absorbers and are commonly used in the manufacture of various materials including steel, cement, chemicals, iron, medicines, and food products.

Butterfly Dampers

Butterfly dampers are usually lighter and cheaper than blade-style dampers and only have one slat (sometimes called "wafer") as opposed to a multi-slat configuration of a louvred style valve. They control the flow of air or gas using a pipe system.

A round metal piece rotates on the vertical axis, opening and closing to start or stop the flow. This type of valve is often used in safety applications such as fire prevention and environmental compliance systems. The butterfly damper can be equipped with sensors that will automatically close and stop the flow of incoming air if smoke or toxic gas is detected.

The fire suppression valve detects an increase in heat level and then closes to minimize the spread of fire and smoke.
